TE Jonathan Hays was ordained as assistant pastor of New Song PCA in Salt Lake City recently, reported the Salt Lake Tribune. He is the first “homegrown” candidate from one of the five PCA churches in Utah. He was also born into a multigenerational Mormon family and raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. TE David E. Longacre, has edited The Homosexual Debate and the Church: A Collection of Essays, the first in a proposed series to be published by HARVEST USA. The series will address the many facets of ministry involving the issue of homosexuality from dealing with pro-gay theology to doing direct ministry with those who struggle with same-sex attraction. This volume addresses the fundamental distortions of biblical truth in pro-gay theology and summarizes basic issues in addressing the homosexual community. TE Edmund P. Clowney, How Jesus Transforms the Ten Commandments, edited by Dr. Clowney’s daughter Rebecca Jones. TE Dennis E. Johnson, Academic Dean and Professor of Practical Theology at Westminster Seminary in California, has written Him We Proclaim: Preaching Christ from All the Scriptures. This book makes the case for a return to the hermeneutical and historical preaching of the apostles, preaching that is Christ-centered, redemptive-historical, missiological, and grounded in grace. Join Choir Tour of Ukraine

TE Larry Roff, PCA pastor, General Assembly organist, and Trinity Hymnal editor, will be leading a choir tour on a musical mission trip to Ukraine, June, 13 – 24, 2008, to include concerts in Kiev, Odessa, Rivne, Lviv, and Belgorod-Dnistrovsky. This will be in conjunction with MTW missionaries serving there. Based on preliminary interest, he anticipates a choir of 60 – 80. Local Ukrainian Presbyterian congregations in these cities will help promote the concerts and will provide follow-up ministry for those drawn to Christ through the music. Microfinance and Microenterprise Training

The “Principles and Practices of Christian Microfinance and Microenterprise Development” is a course conducted by the Chalmers Center of Covenant College, that provides an overview to microenterprise development and microfinance and will guide participants to design a holistic approach in this ministry. The next email-based distance course will be offered on Sept. 28 – Nov. 16, 2007. The prerequisite for the course is “Foundations and Principles of Holistic Ministry,” which will be offered on Aug. 20 – Sept. 15, 2007. Short-Term Missions Without Long-Term Harm

The Chalmers Center of Covenant College will be conducting an email-based distance learning course called “How to Do Short-term Missions Without Doing Long-term Harm,” on Oct. 29 – Nov. 16, 2007 and again on March 10 – March 28, 2008. This course is designed for: 1) sending churches and denominations, 2) host churches and missionaries, 3) missions project leaders, and 4) missions team members. It provides an understanding of the issues surrounding the execution of short-term missions in the context of the socio-economic poor, and presents frameworks for considering these issues so that you can maximize the benefits and minimize potential harm from your missions projects. TE Leon Wardell, 83, a honorably retirement member of James River Presbytery, was called home to glory on April, 17, 2007.
